Freeze-drying is a sensitive process associated with a number of product loss challenges. These range from bottle cap issues resulting in vacuum loss to problems associated with glass breakage in the lyophilization chamber or during crimping. The LyoSeal® cap is made of plastic and is designed for immediate closure of vials within the lyo chamber. It is a secondary closure to protect and maintain vacuum while simplifying the capping process. Plastic-only caps allow lyophilization and crimping in one step, providing an instant seal. The LyoSeal® brand offers a new closure solution for 20 mm caps for lyophilized medicines, made entirely of medical grade polypropylene.
