Today's cell and gene therapies pose new challenges in terms of safe storage and handling while ensuring the cold chain. AAV-based gene therapies typically require storage at extremely low temperatures between -60 and -80°C. Cell and CAR-T cell therapies, on the other hand, are even stored in nitrogen vapor tanks at -135 to -186 °C. These temperatures and the value of the drugs make the choice of high-quality packaging essential for safe storage conditions. Gerresheimer Gx® Elite COP (Cyclic Olefin Polymer) vials are designed for peak performance in advanced immunotherapy or also for radiopharmaceuticals.
