West LyoTec® plugs have the West FluroTec® film applied to their top surface, which prevents the plugs from sticking to the pressure plates. The unique West LyoTec® igloo plug design effectively prevents mechanical twinning. Because the FluroTec® coating is applied only to the top, non-medicated surface, integration of LyoTec® plugs into production lines may require minimal regulatory review, especially for manufacturers using an approved West configuration and formulation.

 

LyoTec® stoppers provide an additional level of safety for any lyophilization process:

• For cytostatics, an incident in the lyophilization chamber can trigger an even more expensive and dangerous environmental cleanup.

• When processed in a barrier isolator, the use of LyoTec stoppers can prevent costly cleanup that breaches the sterile environment.
